Ingredients

For the margaritas:

  • 3 cups ice, plus more if needed
  • 2 oz silver tequila (add extra if desired)
  • 1 cup fresh pomegranate juice
  • 2 oz fresh lime juice (from lime wedges)
  • 1 oz agave syrup, or honey/simple syrup (optional)

For the glass preparation:

  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 2 small limes, cut into wedges
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate arils, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Pour the kosher salt onto a small plate. Take one of the lime wedges and run it around the rim of two glasses to moisten them, ensuring all sides are coated. Invert each glass and dip the moistened rim into the salt until well coated. Set the prepared glasses aside for serving.
  • In a high-speed blender, combine 3 cups of ice, silver tequila, fresh pomegranate juice, fresh lime juice (from the lime wedges), and agave syrup if desired. Blend until the mixture is smooth and slushy. Taste and, if you want a stronger drink, add more tequila and blend again. If the mixture is too thick, add extra ice and blend to reach your perfect consistency. I like to taste at this stage and adjust the sweetness by adding a bit more agave syrup if needed.
  • Pour the blended pomegranate margarita into the prepared glasses with salted rims. Garnish each drink with a few pomegranate arils for a festive touch, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing frozen margaritas!
